  5.   Carelessness in editing is never an encouraging sign as it makes one wonder about carelessness in research. There is a marriage record of Jason Harrington to Catherine Eames in Whitingham, VT here, but the probate file shows no sign that Jason had a wife. Meanwhile he signed a deed in 1820, described as "of Boston", while the 1820 census shows a Jason Harrington still in Whitingham here, with 4 children under 16 (2 boys under 10, 1 boy 10-16, 1 girl under 10), both parents 25-45. Clearly, all these children did not exist in 1820 from a marriage in 1815. Also living in Whitingham in 1820 is Rufus Harrington. In 1810 a Rufus and Jason Harrington are living in Conway. Rufus was a son of Jason and Ruany (Farnham) Harrington of Conway, a family uncovered by the Harrington Gazetteer. Conway's records show Jason's wife d. 1814 so he would have been looking to remarry in 1815, and that is probably what the 1815 marriage is, not Jason Harrington Jr. of Boston/Orange.
