From New Jersey, she accompanied her family to North Carolina in 1752.
Shortly after Aaron and the family arrived in Rowan County, North Carolina
(1754), he purchased the Boone (Daniel & Rebecca) farm. Would you believe
that he only paid 87 pounds sterling for a 640-acre farm? Back then, that
was a little less than $300 dollars. Times have sure changed.
About 1962 [sic] Jane accompanied one of her older brothers to Kentucky where their father
(Aaron) also owned property. There (exact location is a little fuzzy), but
in August of 1765 at age 16 Jane married Squire Boone, Jr. However, there is
some controversy whether she married him in Kentucky, or married him in North
Carolina, just before the Boone's moved to Kentucky. In any case, she
resided in Kentucky after her marriage until her death on 18 March 1829. She
was 79 years old when she died.
