James and Leah's 4 children, Addie WYLIE, dau, F W 8, IL OH IN; Fred WYLIE, son, M W 6, IL OH IN; Lessie [sic] WYLIE, dau, F W 4, IL OH IN; and James B. WYLIE, son, M W 2, IL OH IN; enumerated on p.327C with A.C. WINTERS age 51 b. WV, wife Ellen A. age 47 b. IN, their son E.O. age 23 b. IL, and a 56 yr. old man b. in VA. One possible explanation, especially since their surname is correct, is that their parents were both sick and they wanted to protect the children. James M. Wylie, farmer, Sec. 5; P.O. Pontiac; was born in Warren Co. Ohio, Oct 15, 1830; removed with his parents to Tippecanoe Co. Ind., in 1837, where he lived until 1847, thence to Lancaster Co. IL and there engaged in blacksmithing until the Spring of 1850, at which time he emigrated to California where he remained engaged in mining and farming for 20 years after which time he returned and settled at his present place of residence; he owns 205 acres of land valued at $40 per acre. He married Miss Leah A. Jones of Indiana, Dec 1, 1870; she was born Jan 23, 1840; they are the parents of three children--Addie, born Nov. 19, 1872; Freddie, born Oct. 26, 1874; Jessie, born Dec. 18, 1875. --History of Livingston County, Illinois (Chicago: W.
