James William taught school in Argo in the 1870's
After he moved to Arkansas in the late 1890's he dropped the James and went by William Jennings the rest of his life. He also changed the spelling of his last name to Warnix so all of his family line goes by Warnix
He moved to Calhoun AR, then to Rogers, AR, and then to DeQueen, AR. He later moved to OK. In the early 1900's he and one of his sons, Rex, moved to CA to homestead 120 acres. He lived there for five years, then moved back to OK. His wife had already moved back to OK from CA because the desert was hard on their handicapped son. (A fever as a child had left him brain damaged).
While in CA, William tried to grow things, but evidently they had some desert land & were unable to raise crops. They tried raising turkeys, but the turkeys died because they would get sand up their beak.
