James Thompson

Facts and Events
James "was one of the largest taxpayers on the east side of the Great River. It is a family tradition that he was also a merchant and frequently voyaged to the old country; and that at each of his daughters' marriages he was wont to bring home to each a handsome brocaded silk dress and so many yards of Irish lace."[4]
"His will (Hrfd. Prob. Office), dated 23 Mch., 1771, mentions wife Janet, daus. Elizabeth (wife Zebulon Barrett), Margaret (Chandler), Miriam (Harper), and John — only son."[4]
