Scotland; educ James Allan’s Academy and Glasgow Univ.; licen by Presb of Greenock 5may and ord to Gourock 23jun1852, trans and adm to Irvine, Kilbirnie 17feb1853; D.D. Glasgow apr1887; d. 29jan1893.
