James Henry Skinner



MEDON, TN - Funeral services for James Henry Skinner, 78, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Rev. C. P. Vandiver officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.


Mr. Skinner died August 15, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.


He was born in Medon, Tennessee and was a retired routeman for Clean Linen Service with twenty-six years service. Mr. Skinner was a member of the American Legion and a member of Pinson Church of God.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Hill Skinner; his mother, Pauline Hodge and his step-father, Hubert Hodge.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Shumate Skinner of Medon; his step-children, Pat Moore, Anne Lively, Debbie Mulliniks, Jimmy Shumate and James Shumate, Jr. all of Jackson, Brenda Vann of Medon, Sherry Hardee of Bemis and Billy Shumate of Jacks Creek, TN; seventy-nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers to serve are Charles Vandiver, Jason Moore, James McKinney, Jr., Don Vandiver, Matthew Moore and Timmy Vann.


Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM today at the funeral home.
