"6. James³ Scarritt was born at Branford 2 September 1737. He died, probably at Wallingford, Connecticut, after 21 April 1817, the last time he appeared in a deed. He was listed as a head of household in the 1810 census but not the 1820 census. However, in 1820 his son John Scarritt had two males 45 and older in his household, so James, a widower, may have been living in his son's household in 1820."
