Grandpa (Jame W Reddick) make $0.50 a day working at a saw mill handling the 12 b 12's which were used to build foundations. He saved half of his money and that is what he bought his cattle with when go got married. He had gotten so many cows he had to hire a friend to "ride the woods" and take care care of the cattle. They would round them up every six months and brand them. Every Friday they'd slaughter cattle and people would come to buy beef. He had hundreds of head of cattle. That's what he was doing when he married Lizzie. " During bad times the Indians would come and leave food on grandpas front steps.
