James B. Lindsay, a former resident of Houlton, died at his home in Medford, Mass., Monday, Dec. 24 1917.

Mr. Lindsay was born in Houlton, on Oct 1841 (error?, and lived there until about nine years ago, when he moved to Medford, to be near his children. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and was well known to nearly all our citizens. He was a man upright in all his dealings with men, and commanded univeral respect. It will be with a feeling of sorrow and regret that the news of his demise will be received by his large circle of friends in this vicinity.

He leaves a widow and one son Fred, of Medford, three daughters Mrs. William Landick of Melrose, Mrs. F. S. Mitchell and Mrs. George Beatty of Medford, alsoone sister Mrs. Horace Chaloner of Houlton, Funeral services were held at his home in Medford, and the remains arrived in Houlton this morning for internment in Evergreen Cemetary.
