'The only reference I have to the name Bailie or Baillie occurs in a letter dated Feb 24, 1816 addressed to 'Andrew Keachie in FloridaTownship care of James Baillie, Schenectady, State of New York' writtenby a nephew John McKeachie from Kilstour Farm, near village of Sorby inWigtownshire, Scotland. This letter was in a family Bible belonging toAndrew Keachie and now in the possession of Henry Jackson family. Hiswidow now lives at Manotick, near Ottawa. 'James Baillie' is thought to have been a friend of the Keachie family.' Source: Franklin Bailie Keachie 1966 James B. came to Beverly Township in 1820.
