"James L. Clovis, 66, of St. Marys, died Monday in St. Marys. Clovis was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and was retired from the Dravo Corp., where he had worked as a draftsman.

He was born in Pleasants County, a son of the late Harry and Mamie Schofield Clovis. He is survived by his wife, Mary Wardwell Clovis; two sons, John of Syracuse, NY, and James of Marietta; and one brother, Paul Clovis of Leesburg, FL.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Clovis.

The funeral will be 1pm Friday at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Pike Cemetery in Ritchie County." -The Parkersburg (WV) Sentinel 13 May 1992
