From Notes of Roberta North Ferree and Barbara Ferree Barden - unpublished
James built an iron forge, Oakdale Forge, about 1828 near what is now Loyalton Station in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He also built six or seven houses for his workmen. He kept a store there and also the post office. The post office was established about 1830. Later the family moved to Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland.
