Mary O'Brien from central Rawdon, NS married James in or around the ye ar of 1809. Mary O'Brien was born in 1785. Her parents Moses and Margar et O'Brien farmed in the Rawdon area. Her father was a Loyalist from Prov idence, RI. The elder Moses died in 1809 leaving a relatively young famil y. James occupation was also a farmer like his father before him. After h is parents death, he took his family and moved to OH, U.S.A They went to H amilton CO in 1814, remaining there until 1824 when they migrated to Sandu sky CO settling first at Fremont and then removing to the Portage Riv er in 1828. Then Elmore was the last place we hear of them as the differe nt sons and daughters moved to other areas. James was very instrument al in the building of the Town of Elmore OH.

There were supposed to be 12 children, but no further records as yet on t he rest of them.
