"James Baldwin, b. say 1667; m. (1) Elizabeth _____; (2) Hannah _____. The Baldwin genealogy says that on 12 Jan. 1692 he acted with Eliezer Rogers in dividing the undivided estate of his grandfather, Joseph1 Baldwin, between Jonathan2 Baldwin and the children of David2 Baldwin, Benjamin2 Baldwin having removed to Newark, N J., and conveyed to the other two. He appears in a Milford, Conn., deed to him dated 5 Aug. 1692 as James Baldwin, weaver. He was admitted to the Milford church in 1699; his wife Elizabeth was admitted 18 July 1703. Between 1705 and 1708 he moved to Durham, Conn., and resided there probably until after 1724. He then moved to Saybrook, Conn., where he wrote his will in 1748, which was proved in 1756."
