Born 1702, Jacques VIGNEAU dit MAURICE of Port Royal married 1st around 1725 to Marguerite ARSENAULT; five children. He married 2nd around 1745 to Marguerite BOURG (widow of Guillaume CYR). Jacques was a merchant at Green Bay in 1755. Deported to Massachusetts, he was at Miquelon in 1767, where he was buried on the 11 May 1772.

He settled at Beaubassin, where at the time of the Expulsion he was a merchant at Baie Verte. "It was under the leadership of Jacques Vigneau that the first party of Acadians from Georgia, about 150 in all, arrived at Charleston, South Carolina, March 29, 1756." He petitioned the Governor of MA in Dec 1758: "Humbly Shew, Jockey Morris a French Neutral now residing in Roxbury, on behalf of himself and Family. That when he came into this Province, he brought with him a Number of Boats which were afterwards by an Order of the Hon.ble Court taken out of his hands, & Sold by a Committee of the General Court, that he has never yet receiv'd any Consideration for 'em. " A year later he was paid out of the Public Treasury the net proceeds paid by Roland Cotton, the sum of 7 pounds 8 shillings 2 pence (Cites: Mass. Archives, vol. 23, p. 598; & vol. 24, p. 118)
