"Jacob, son of John and Jane, married [this source shows first child, Benjamin, b. 1752, but VRs give baptism of 6 yr. old Jacob in 1754, so before 1748] Lucy."
↑ As cited above, Reed gives Jacob's parents as John and Jane, but provides no evidence. Nor is Jacob's birth found in Chelmsford records. Jacob's age at death would pretty much require that he be a twin of one of the known children, which begs the question, why wasn't Jacob's birth be recorded? Jacob is not mentioned as one of the heirs in the father's probate of 1769 (Jacob was alive at this time). All of which strongly suggests that Reed put Jacob into the wrong family.
