    "Jacob Preston, b. about 1657 (on 20 May 1671, 'Thomas Chandler of Merrimack, blacksmith, and Jacob Presson of Andover' entered into an indenture 'whereby said Jacob, with the consent of Nicolas Holt of Andover, his father-in-law, by the marriage of his mother, and by her consent also, bound himself to said Chandler for seven years, from March 26, 1671' [EQC 7:73; see also EQC 6:171, 193-941); on 25 September 1679. 'Jacob Preston being cast away at sea. administration upon his estate was granted to John Preston, who was ordered to bring in an inventory to the next Salem court' [EQC 7:315; EQC 7:415-16]; unmarried.'"
