Jacob Fite was born in Allen Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was taken as an infant, to Lincoln County, North Carolina by his parents, and nine years later to Tennessee. When grown Jacob Fite lived on his own plantation in Wilson County, Tennessee, where he dispensed a generous hospitality until the breaking out of the Civil War. His estate comprised many hundred acres and a number of slaves[1].
