Jacob was the 2nd of 10 children. He graduated from Harvard Collegein 1792. He was ordained pastor of the church of Hampton Falls onAug15, 1798. Eventually he was troubled by a "rise of other denominations," and he became a Unitarian. He was dismissed from his duties on Oct 23, 1827, and removed to Windham, NH. He was drowned following the upsetting of his boat as he was returning home across the pond from public worship at the meeting-house. (Lane)
