  Jabez Stone (1243) was the second son of Jabez (1050), was born in Cranston, in the same house, probably, certainly on the same farm, where Hugh Stone (1) died some forty years before. When fourteen or fifteen years old, he removed with his father to Coventry. He married Miss Freelove Manchester, a woman generally beloved; still, quiet and home-loving. Jabez (1243) was a man of social nature, but lacked the force and energy to make  life a success. They had but two children who arrived at maturity. Wanton Stone (1251) married Miss Freelove Knight and reared a large family of children, who are generally respected and esteemed. Charles D. Stone (1262), youngest of Wanton Stone, married Almira A. Arnold, and is a man of much ability and energy. They reside in Coventry, near the Black Rock village, and are in good circumstances. Freelove M. Stone (1253) has been married, but is now a widow,- a women beloved,-upon whom the mantle of the departed mother has gently fallen.
