NICHOLS, Jabez, s. Will[ia]m and Sarah, [born] Dec. 20, 1728.
[Note: this date is clearly impossible being about 6 years after the father died. The online image appears to be a copy (here) so the original cannot be inspected for context clues, etc. An article in NEHGR, vol. 127, p. 178, suggests the correct date is 20 Dec 1722, being a typical spacing from the previous child and in line with the age at death, and since even 20 Dec 1723 would be too long after the father's death. However the fact that both Jabez and previous child Samuel are reported as 20 Dec of their respective years raises concerns that there could be further copying errors...]

"Grang[sic] Father Jabez Nichols Died August 14th 1777, Aged 54 y & 8 months (was born 1723)"
[Note: 54 y. 8 m. actually calculates to Dec 1722.]
