"11. Israel3 Hendrick, Jr., son of Israel2 (Daniel1) and Sarah (Gutterson) Hendrick, was born Mar. 16, 1693, in Haverhill, Mass., d. July 3, 1768, in South Wilbraham (now Hampden), Mass., at the home of his son, Jabez4, m. Mar. 15, 1719-20 in Gloucester, Mass., Anna Babson, b. Aug. 22, 1690, in Salem, Mass., d. Nov. 8,1743, in Union, Conn., dau. of Philip and Hannah (Baker) Babson. The Gloucester record of his marriage reads, 'Israel Hendrick, a sojourner,' probably meaning that he had not made Gloucester his permanent residence. They removed to Norwich, Conn., as early as 1721, and May 18, 1726, he bought 50 acres of land situated on Plain Hills, in Norwich, of John Hazen for £100, and Dec. 20, 1726, buys of the same man 'a right of way for Israel Hendrick to pas and repas with a cart through my land from s'd Hendrick's house northwesterly as far as John frenche’s land, sd highway to be where it shall best accomodate sd Hendrick and least demnifie me, and from Frenche's land aforesaid through my land where ye path now goes to the country road.' Apr. 6, 1742, Israel Hendrick, of Norwich, New London County, Colony of Conn., sells 57 acres of land on Plain Hills, to Simon Gager, 'with liberty of a pentway for passing and repassing across the land that was John Hazen's as is expressed in deed to me from sd Hazen.' He had previously bought of Samuel Bartholomew, Mar. 11, 1742, a tract of land known as Lot No. 2, in Union, Conn., Samuel Bartholomew had bought it of Capt. Daniel Badger. Originally the farm contained 175 acres, and extended 400 rods east from the town road, and Nov. 17, 1760, he divided his property among his children. He had previously, in 1748, given the land that was given to the heirs of Israel2 Hendrick, as a bounty, by the Massachusetts Bay Colony, for his part in the Narraganset fight during King Philip’s War, to his son,Jabez. This land was situated in Hampshire Co., west of Hatfield. After disposing of his property, he went to live with his eldest son, Jabez, who had purchased a large tract of land in the southern part of Wilbraham, Mass., that is now the town of Hampden."
