Residences: Israel went from Barrington to Little River in June 1781 with his father's family. After his marriage he settled on a portion of his father's place, since called "Doane's Point" on Robert's Island where 7 of his 9 children were born. Then he removed to Roberts Island, Argyle township, in 1792.Occupation: In company with the Pinkeys, George Owen, and perhaps others, Israel built at Little River several small vessels for the West Indies trade but with little or no financial success. In 1808 they owned the Schooner "John, 32 tons" and in 1818 the brigantine "Speculator", 110 tons, in 1846, the brigitine "Evelina" 110 tons which lying at anchor in Argyle Harbor was driven ashore in a September Gale and became a total loss.Church: Members of the Argyle Bapist Church. He and his wife were baptized by Rev. Enoch Towner. After he moved to Little River, he united by letter with the Yarmouth Baptist Church but transferred his membership to the South Yarmouth Church at Central Chebogue on its organization in April 1828. He was a strongly religious nature. He lived and talked Christianity all the days of his long life.
