Form A, for Soldiers in indigent circumstances I. Z. Meadows was honorably discharged "After the Battle if [sic] Missionary Ridge, my Company went to Dalton, Ga. and from there we were mustered out, and never was with the company any more and was at home when the surrender finally came. I went out of the service in 1864 but I do not remember for sure about these dates." Present age: 65 yrs Born Smith County, Miss. Resided in Texas since 1872 Presently in Hopkins County, have resided there for 7 yrs, post office address is Sulpur Springs, Texas RFD #7 Have not previously applied for a Confederate pension Occupation farmer Served in Miss., about 13 months. "I think it was in Jan 1863" that enlisted. Served in Company C., 8th Miss Reg, Infantry
- There is no record for Isaiah in the 8th Mississippi Reg. Both the 6th and 8th joined the Army of Tennessee, which fought at Missionary Ridge. See National Parks Service Civil War Soldier and Sailors System.
