Col. Robert R. Hunter. His sons Robert Eugene and Philip Schuyler, of Sandy Hill, New York, sailed from New York to San Francisco, CA, on April 11, 1849, aboard the clipper ship Memnon. They were later joined by their brother John (my gggrandfather). Hunter's Point in San Francisco was named for these three brothers who were early settlers of the area and owned the land.
