    "13. Sergt. Isaac Tomlinson, son of Jonas,2 (Henry1) and Hannah [William] Tomlinson … died Jan. 27, 1754. His will was dated Jan. 9, 1754, and proved February, 1754, and in it he mentions all of his children … He was a representative to the legislature from Derby, and a prominent man in other offices in that town. …

    In the name of God, Amen. I. Isaac Tomlinson, of Derby, in the County of New Haven, in the Colony of Connecticut in New England, being weak and low in bodily estate, but of sound mind and memory (thanks be given to God for it) see cause to make this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth:

    First of all, I resign and give my soul to God, who gave it hoping and trusting in ye merits of Jesus Christ, my Redeemer, for an Inheritance incorruptable among the blessed; and as for my Body, I desire may be committed to the Earth by Christian Burial; and as for that outward estate of worldly goods which God hath blessed me with, I order and dispose of as followeth:

    First of all, I order my funeral expenses and just debts to be paid out of my estate by my executors hereinafter named.

    Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife. Patience Tomlinson, my dwelling house with my orchard or four acres of land adjoining to my House with all my Household movables during her natural life; and also two cows with the improvement of mv Hill Side Lot during her natural life.

    I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Ann Durand. Fifty pounds old Tenor to her and her Heirs forever.

    I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Patience Tomlinson, and to her Heirs forever fifty pounds old Tenor.

    [ give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Rachel Smith, and to her Heirs forever the sum of fifty pounds old Tenor.

    I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Mary Hawkins, and to her Heirs forever the sum of fifty pounds old Tenor.

    I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Zervia Chatfield, and to her Heirs forever fifty pounds old Tenor.

    I devise, give and bequeath unto mv Son, Noah Tomlinson, and his Heirs forever my Barn and Half an acre of land adjoining thereto.

    I devise, give and bequeath unto my two sons, namely Isaac Tomlinson and Noah Tomlinson, them and their Heirs and Assigns forever all my estate, both real and personal, whatsoever yt might acrue to me, to be equally divided between them.

    Lastly my will is, and I do hereby appoint my two sons, namely, Isaac Tomlinson and Noah Tomlinson to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other Testaments, Wills, Legacies and Bequests and Executors, by me in anywise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In confirmation of all that is above written, I. the sd. Isaac Tomlinson, have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of January in the year 1754. &c.
