Isaac Rial/Ryal left NJ with his family in the early 1800's. in 1810 he lived in Washington Co, Pa, in 1820 Belmont Co, Oh, in 1830 Lawrence Co, Oh. He had served in the Rev War and received a pension in Lawrence Co. His son, Isaac 2, kept receiving his father's mail according to family history, so he changed the spelling of his family to Riel.My Grandmother married an older Rial son and became a Rial until her husband's death. Then she married the youngest son who lived in WVa and became a Riel. Together they raised a Rial son from her husband's first marriage, the children from her first marriage, the children from her second husband's first marriage and the children from her second marriage all in WVa. So we have in the area surrounding Wetzel Co, Rial in one direction and Riel in the other direction, all from the same family.
