  1. Pension File.

Isaac Newman, New York, pension file S11135 in the Nat'l Archives. He got $120 on Oct 25, 1833 for his service in the War...a pension of $20 semi-annual (I think)+ the arrears. His affadavit was filed Sep 21, 1832, in Broadalbin, Montgomery, NY. Isaac Newman did appear and testified to his service..very convoluted story..very hard to read ...about volunteering on Apr 1 1777 for 1yr from the town of Salem, NY ..but only stayed 2mos and was discharged. He went home & was drafted in June 1777 went to Daub's Ferry then to Terrytown; came home after a month & was drafted again for 1mos..this time went on the line between the British & Americans below White Plains, near Terrytown. Says that he was born on March 20, 1761 in Stamford, Ct and he got the record from the town & knew of no other record. He was 72 when he gave his testimony. Stated that he had lived since the Rev War in Salem (Westchester County) NY & in Schnectady town, the 4th ward (Schenectady County) and then for the last 20yrs has lived in Broadalbin, NY (Montgomery Co..soon to be Fulton County) (so, arr abt. 1812)
