Obituary for Irene C. Duffy Brown

BROWN IRENE C. (DUFFY) On Tuesday, February 24, 2004, Irene C. (Duffy) Brown, age 80; beloved wife of 57 years of Edward J. Brown of Avalon, formerly of Glenshaw; also survived by loving daughter, Penny A. Schramm & her husband Michael of Hampton; granddaughters, Amy Beth Schramm of NYC and Melissa Lynn Schramm of Hampton; brother, Albert Duffy & his wife Lila; sisters, Minnie Duffy & Velma Birch; sister-in-law, Pat Duffy; and brother-in-law, Paul Brown & his wife Marty. Born June 10, 1923 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Irene Graham Duffy. She was also preceded in death by brother, Robert W. Duffy; and brother-in-law, Ralph Birch. During WWII, Irene served with the Women's Army Corps, (WAC). She was a dear friend to many and will be forever remembered for her caring manner, her sense of humor and for her strength throughout her life. Friends invited Thursday 1-4 & 6-9pm in the THE ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC. A GOLDEN RULE MEMBER FIRM. 1014 California Avenue Avalon, (North Boros). Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 10:00 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be in the church cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to either the North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101 or to Animal Friends, Inc. 2646 Penn Avenue, Pgh, PA 15222.
