"Ignace Fischer arrived in the U.S. spring of 1874. Lived in or near Duluth for a time before and after his marriage. Later the family moved to St. Paul (c. 1892). Ignace worked as a picture framer, drayman and store clerk. Family arrived in Scappoose 31 Mar 1812. Bought farm in 1913.

The birthdate (1845) on gravestone is incorrect, the last two digits are switched.

  4. There is disagreement about his birth date, his grave says 1845, the Fischer Family Tree says 1854 and the Censuses vary between 1855 and 1856.
  5. The census data varies: 1869, 1869 and 1874. Since the latter was explicitly on the form, rather than inferred from years in country, presumably it is closest.
