Ida M Gabel, 93, of Fremont died early Tuesday morning at Memorial Hospita l. Ida had been a resident of Parkview Care Center for the past six week s.

She was born in Gibsonburg to the now-deceased George and Philimena (Steye r) Hammer. On Feb. 10, 1932, she married Leonard J Gabel at St. Michael Ca tholic Church in Gibsonburg. He preceded her Aug. 27,1969.

Surviving are sons Kenneth L (Dorothy) Gabel of Fremont, Robert (Beverl y) Gabel of Bloomville and Clement W Gabel of Point Place; daughter Shirl ey R (Jerry) Miller of Fremont; and nine grandchildren and five great-gran dchildren. Ida is also preceded by sons Cletus Joseph Gabel and Lawrence " Larry" James Gabel, one granddaughter, brothers David Hammer, Charles Hamm er, Michael Hammer, George Hammer Jr, Macey Hammer and Louis Hammer and si sters Clara Ferrenberg, Mary McClure, Rose Magrum, Loretta Marx and Cecel ia Hoffman.

Ida was a homemaker and belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Ros ary Society and the Golden Threads.

Ida was very proud of the fact that she still canned and worked in her gar den up to the age of 91. Ida had a love for cooking, sewing, flowers, maki ng crafts and stuffed animals, but her greatest love was for her family a nd grandchildren.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funer al Home.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Chur ch with Rev. David Bruning officiating.

Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, to St. Joseph Catholic Church or scho ol or donor's choice.
