BIOGRAPHY: The Brewster Genealogy (1566 - 1907) A Record of the Descendants of William Brewster Compiled and Edited by Emma C. Brewster Jones Cincinnati, Ohio - Volume I - The Grafton Press 1908 - Page 86 Ichabod Brewster (William 4, William 3, Love 2, William 1), married at Scituate or Pembroke, Mass., June 3, 1735, Lydia, daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Randall) Barstow of Hanover, Mass., born at Scituate, April 23, 1717; died at Lebanon, Conn., February 6, 1815, in her 98th year. He died at Lebanon, July 27, 1797, aged 87 years, and he and his wife were buried in Exeter Cemetery, Lebanon.

Extract from Lot E. Brewster's MS., written in 1845:
“ At the time of, or soon after the marriage of Ichabod Brewster, he and his wife resided at Pembroke, Mass., where they continued until May, 1743, when they removed to Lebanon, Conn., with their children Bathsheba, Lydia and William. This removal was considered an arduous undertaking and a hazardous enterprise, for Lebanon was then only about a day's journey from the Indian frontier of hostile tribes. The removal proved to be fortunate for Ichabod, as he prospered in his new location. His first purchased in Lebanon was a new farm with a small portion already cultivated, and on which a dwelling-house had been built.”
