Hugh Cozad Whitmore, born August 8, 1925 in Lincoln, Nebraska, died April 20, 2006, while at a local rehab center. Hugh served in the Army during WWII. He worked s a clinical social worker at the Methodist Children's Home and VA Medical Center in San Diego. After he retired he worked in private practice with victims of domestic violence and their perpetrator. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed sailing. Hugh took great pride in his home and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and had many close friends. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, his sisters Hope and Barbara, his children, Steve Whitmore, Michelle de la Fuente, Sheryl Kemp, Teri Morales, Laura Cavanagh, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sisters Esther and Jeanne preceded him in death.... Memorial Services will be held in the Claremont Mortuary ... San Diego on Monday, April 24th at 1 p.m. He will be placed to ret at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery at a later date.
