Hugh D Hirzel, 70, of Oregon OH, passed away on March 12, 2004, at home s urrounded by his loving family. He was born in Northwood OH, on Februa ry 21, 1934, to Alfred and Bertha (Vogelsanger) Hirzel. Hugh drove a se mi truck for Sullivan Steel Company (1967-72), Toledo Tank (1972-82) and T reu House of Munch (1982-92). Hugh retired from RMF in 1999 where he had w orked since 1994. He was a lifetime member of the Toledo Swiss Society a nd an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Hugh was very devot ed to work but his family was always first, even before his personal need s. He was a true devoted family man. Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lois; sons and daughters- in-law, Eric and Sherri Hirzel, Daniel Hirzel; grandchildren, Alekzander a nd Rebekah; brothers and sisters, Alfred, Robert (Alva), Madelyn Cimprit z, Thelma (Albert) Hoehner, Ruth Brown, Ernie Hirzel and Betty (Robert) St otz; sister-in-law, Carol Hirzel. He was preceded in death by his parent s; son, Hugh D II; brother, Donald Hirzel; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hirze l, and brother-in-law, Robert Brown. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Hom e, Coy Rd Chapel, 440 S Coy Rd, Oregon OH, on Sunday and Monday from 2 -9 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9: 15 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N Stadium, Orego n OH, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will foll ow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Donations made in the memory of Hugh are appr eciated and will be allocated to his favorite organizations and charitie s.
