MR. H. DEVON. The funeral of Mr. Hugh Devon took place from his residence, Forbes-street, Abermain, and was largely attended. Members of Abermain Sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers' League and Abermain Miners' Lodge preceded the hearse. The interment was in the Methodist section of Kurri Kurri Cemetery. Rev. A. G. Whitton officiated at the grave. The pallbearers were Messrs. G. Carter, S. Thomas, E. Reckenberg, J. Reckenberg, A. McGrath, and K. McDonald. Mr. Devon was employed at Abermain No. 1 colliery for many years. He took a prominent part in public matters and sport. He was 42 years of age, and left a wife and family.
