    'HUGH de HORTON born at Horton, Northamptonshire, died between 1327 and 1332 possibly at Knaptoft but more probably at Mowsley, Leicestershire; married possibly a daughter of Philip de Redesdale at Knaptoft.'

    His father transferred land in Knaptoft to him in 1277 [citing "A Fine of Trinity," 5 Edward I (1277), cited by Horton-Smith (1943) 4, 17]. A croft in Mowsley (known as Le Prest Croft) was given to a Horton, 'presumably Hugh de Horton or possibly his son.'
