When he helped his father as a Boilermaker. Then after his father ran out to go to Ireland. He went to the Coal mines, Then to Steel mills. My father always voted Democratic, because he grew up a Roman Catholic in Scotland. There because of his religion he and his family couldn't get good housing or Jobs. He was once laid off because he was Catholic. His family came from Ireland to Scotland in the 1840's to escape the Irish famine to a country where their religion was outlawed so they could feed their family. Almost 90 years later my father came to the United States in 1929. A few years after he came FDR was elected President and did a lot for the working class as did then President Truman who did a lot for the working class's of both America and Europe, both were Democrats. He realized that the Republicans almost always worked against the working class like the wealthy class of Scotland who kept his family down. When the Democrats passed the Civil Rights bills in the 1960's he knew he made the right choice, he always told me never to put another man down because what you do to others you do to yourself. My father Hugh Wallace Boyle’s ancestors go back to Ireland where they were probably Tenant farmers who left Ireland during the Potato famine, when over a million Irish died not because of the potato famine, but because they were Roman Catholic no aid came from Briton or the United States of America for Ireland, but both of which were Protestant Countries and aided Scotland which was also hit with the Potato Famine, but had fewer people die. Mary Duffy Boyle left Ireland with her son Patrick Boyle and traveled to Scotland which was near to Dunegal where they lived. Catholic Mass was outlawed in Scotland until 1872 so they had to pray in their own homes. Once in Glasgow Scotland he married Sarah Queen. They had seven children (which was common in whose days) one of which was Hugh Boyle who about the turn as the 19th century turned into the 20th century went to Boston Mass. USA where he married Annie Wallace and they had three Children two girls Mary in 1904 and Vera in 1912, My father was born in 1906 in Boston. He and his family went back to Scotland in the year 1913. Hugh Boyle (My Grandfather) was as you can imagine a supporter of Irish Independence and would hide guns for the Irish rebels. Later my Grandfather left his family for Ireland never to be heard of again. My father got in a few fights with the Orange order which got him in trouble with the British Government. He left Scotland in 1929 and headed for New York. (Medical):Name: Hugh Wallace Boyle Certificate: 24969 Death Place: Manatee, Florida by Richard Boyle his youngest son Image Gallery
