Burlington, NC Herbert “Hub” Eugene Fogleman, age 86 formerly of Alamance Road died on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Hospice Home. Herbert was a native of Liberty and one of fourteen children. He was the husband of the late Ruth Overcash Fogleman who died in 2005.

Herbert worked for 42 years with Kayser Roth Hosiery and he retired from Isley Knitting Mills. After retirement he worked for the past 19 years for Dick Shirley Chevrolet as a driver delivering cars. Herbert was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church and a former member of the church council. He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving in the European Theatre where he received a purple heart and a silver star for courage under fire. He was a lifetime member of 94th Infantry Division Association, Inc.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig Fogleman and his wife, Jeanell of Charlotte; grandson, Jason Fogleman of Charlotte; sisters, Betty Harrison of Burlington and Peggy King of Alamance; brothers, George Fogleman and Carl “Bucky” Fogleman both of Burlington, Vern Fogleman of Alamance. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Webb and Sally Holt Fogleman and numerous sisters and brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Alamance Lutheran Church by Pastor James D. Lockley. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the 82nd Airborne from Ft. Bragg. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday in the church parlor prior to the service. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
