11/22/2002 Subject: Hubert Allen -Trying to find information on Hubert Allen, died in Blackwater in 1974. His mother was Sarah Bledsoe and his father Champ Allen. He Is buried in the Austin Bledsoe Cemetery. He was my mothers father (did not acknowledge her). Champ Allen's second wife was Mollie Lipps, Mollie and Champ had at least two children. 11/25/2002 - Thanks for the reply. I would like to know anything about Hubert Allen. My grandmother Annie Mae Lipps was the first child of Mollie Lipps, father unknown. Mollie married Champ Allen who had two or three children already with Elizabeth, Annie Mae was about 2 years younger than Hubert. Mollie and Champ also had children. I would love to find any info on Hubert, his life, and any of his brothers and sisters and decendants. I was in Blackwater last May and I found the Cemetery where Hubert is buried. Unfortunately, that won't tell me anything about the person and his family. I appreciate any information you can share. Carol Ford San Rafael, CA

11/26/2002 - Annie (4) is my grandmother. I don't know who her father is, but I don't think it was Champ Allen. Annie Mae is listed in the 1920 census with her grandmother Margaret Anna Elizabeth (Bare) Lipps, also my mother is listed, Margaret Gertrude age 5/12. Annie married Charles Collins in 1926 and had three children, Roy, Bessie, and Helen. Sometine later she married Amon Chester. They were in Pound, VA. I think Hubert stayed in Blackwater. My brother (Half), Howard Keith, worked for a newspaper in the early 70's and actually found Hubert. Hubert would not admit or deny that he was our mothers father. He said to my brother " ain't sayn it's true, ain't sayn it ain't". The Austin Bledsoe Cemetery is only a couple of miles from where my brother found Hubert. Carol Ford San Rafael, CA

5/1/2005 -.Here are Hubert and Dicie's children....in order....Wheeler Owen....Sarah Elsie...James.(my father)...Ralph...Una Mae.... Dana...(your Dona, i think)....Claude.(died as an infant)....Lorena...there is no Willard...that my Dad can remember...the first two children had middle names, as you can see....I live in Danville, Va.....and I am on the radio here...WAKG....My Dad just told me that his Mom and her brothers may not have known who their father was...she was ...well let's just say that today she would be called a single mom...I too am glad that Joanne gave me your name....I have looked and looked...for my ancestry...and I would like to know EVERYTHING...to go back as far as possible..all the way to Adam....lol.....I'm going now to the site you just gave me....Thank you soooooo much....good to know i have family in the great state of Texas.
