Facts and Events
Hiram and his wife Almeda sold land in Pike in 1832. They moved to Farmersville, where she died in 1842, age 34. In 1843 Hiram married Permelia, the widow of Henry Bond of Pavilion, Genessee Co. In 1863 Hiram and Permelia sold land in Centerville Letter from George S. Bond (Helen Bulkley's Uncle) tells of Almeda buried in Farmersville, NY and that his brother Carl and sister Helen are buried there beside her. The dates are on a stone about 16 inches wide by 30 inches high. He has seen these dates many time The Bible George describes has a light brown leather cover, funny thin moth-spotted paper. According to the Cattaraugus County History by William Adams, 1893 page 129 under Medical practioners it reads "Hiram Bond, energetice and successful came to Famersville from Pike (Wyoming Co.). He retired from practice about 1842 and eventually died in Fon du Lac, WI. page 129 "Clinton W. Bond, son of Hirm, located in this town (Farmersville) about 1862 practices 3 or 4 years and moved to WI and died in IL. In October 1867 he joined the Medical Society and became one its censors. He had great ability and was quite popular" |
