    Court Record, Page 105—5 September, 1749: Adms. granted unto Daniel Sumner, son of the deceased, who gave bonds with William Rockwell of Middletown of £1200.

    We, the subscribers, being by the honourable Court of Probate for Hartford County, held at Hartford January the 1st, A. D. 1750-1, appointed to distribute the estate of Lt. Hezekiah Sumner, late of Middletown deceased, to and among his heirs, and having taken the oath appointed for the purpose aforesd., and takeing the order of sd. Court for our directions, have done the same, viz.:

    To Abigail Sumner, the widow, £301-19-08; To the heirs of William Sumner, £4450-15-04; To Hannah Warren, eldest daughter, £2225-07-00; To Elizabeth Adkins, the youngest daughter, £2225-07-00

    We, the subscribers, being heirs of the estate of sd. Lt. Hezekiah Sumner deceased, do approve of the foregoing distribution of the same, and discharge Daniel Sumner, Adms. on sd. estate, from any further demands thereon.

Now moves that distribution be made: Whereupon this Court appoint Joseph Southmayd, Jonathan Allin and William Rockwell to distribute the estate, viz.: to the widow, 1-3 part of the moveable estate, and 1-3 part of the real during life; and to the heirs of William Sumner deceased a double share; to Hannah Warren and Elizabeth Adkins, children and heirs of sd. estate, their single shares (Daniel Sumner, one of the sons of the deceased, having received his portion of sd. estate in the lifetime of the decd.).
