                           H.J. Higgins, 87, Dies In Stellarton
  Stellarton- Herbert J. Higgins, 41 Belmont Ave., died Saturday afternoon at his home here. He was born in St. John's, Nfld, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Higgins. He would have been 87 years old in August.   He had been a miner all his life and had retired some 20 years ago. Surviving are three sons, James in Westville, Thomas in Toronto and Herbert in Dartmouth; four daughters, Lydia (Mrs. Lawrence MacQuarrie), and Mabel (Mrs.Garland Oldford), Westville; Margaret (Mrs.Samson Oldford), Woodstock, Ont.; and Nora (Mrs.George Bushulak), Stellarton. He is also survived by a brother, Frank, in the United States and a number of grandchildren and 

great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Alice Stevenson, 25 years ago, and by two brothers and a sister. The remains are resting at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, South Foord St., where the funeral will be held tomorrow(Tuesday) afternoon at 3:30.
