So... John Peck had a dau named Hephzibah previous to the Hephzibah Peck who married Peter LAY. Since the Jul 1742 birth [for Elijah's dau, Hepsibah] comes before the death of this John's first dau Hephzibah, Peter Lay's wife, Hepzibah (PECK) LAY must have been born 9 Aug 1743, after the 1st Hephzibah's death.

  3. Some family historians [ie Hyde history] have reported that Peter Lay married Hephsibah, a daughter of Elijah and Hephsibah (Pierson) Peck. He [Elijah] did have a daughter Hephsibah, but she married John Mather.
