His relationship to James Wakelee (son, brother, half-brother, nephew or other) is not known. That they were related is likely, as he had a power of attorney from James in 1663.[3]

In 1669 and 1681, he was granted land for service in the Pequot War (1637) and for service to the Colony near Waterbury [Mattebeseck]. The latter 'probably refers to a punitive expedition of 100 men sent out in Aug. 1639, as a sequel to the Pequot War.'[4]
