Obituary in Bendigo Advertiser and Death notice in The Bendigonian state: arrived in Vic in 1874, lived in Maldon for a brief period and then settled at 272 Rowan St Golden Square, where he remained for 40 years. Over 35 years blacksmith at the New Chum Consolidated (gold mine). Member of IOR lodge. Leaves widow, one son George, daughter Mrs W. Dober of Beechworth, brother-in-law James Roscrow of Ironbark
