Henry enlisted in Company B, 41st Alabama Infantry on March 22nd along with his four brother-in-laws, Wiley B Pollard, Lattimore M Pollard, Luallin G Pollard, and John R Pollard. He served in Capt Kirkland's Company B, under Colonel Tolberts 41st. Alabama Volunteers as a Corporal. He was discharged, sick, on 19th day of November 1862 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Information is taken from his Confederate records and from Barbry M. Stokes pension application made in Prentiss County, Mississippi om August 27th, 1903. She also stated that she had lived in Mississippi for 36 years, reflecting that they had moved to Mississippi in 1867.
