    Individual note:
Owned "Sand Hill" farm in Washington Dist., Jackson Co., WV.
Several decades after he died, heirs donated the land to the Jackson Co. Board of Education for a school on Aplin Ridge. At least one child changed surname to Lytton, as it was before a school teacher had changed it to Litton to make it easier for the children to spell. Some other related Litton's changed their name to Lytton also, in the 1920's.
