In 1900 they lived in Oakfield Twp., Kent County MI; 1910, in Hopkins Twp., Allegan County MI; 1920 & 1930 in Springville Twp., Wexford County MI, and in 1940 they lived in Coopersville, Ottawa County with Catherine's brother, William. Obituaries HENRY LAUG SUCCUMBS WEDNESDAY FOLLOWING PROLONGED ILLNESS Henry Laug, 74, of Coopersville passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.J. Nelson, of Grand Rapids, where he had been for the past five weeks preceding his death, August 7th. He was born May 16, 1866, in Hanover, Germany. He immigrated to this country 56 years ago and came to the Coopersville vicinity from Mesick, four years ago. Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Bree and Mrs. O.J. Nelson, of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Ruth Bohrer of Hudson, Wis.; three sons, Walter, Ernest and Melvin, all of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren and a brother, Harm. of Coopersville. Last rites were conducted from the Coopersville Reformed church, where Rev. J. Sietsema officiated. Interment was made in the Coopersville cemetery, and the Kammeraad funeral home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Source: Coopersville Observer, Thursday, August 15, 1940, pg. 1. The body will repose at the Kammerand Funeral Home until 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Reformed church to lie in state until 2 o'clock, the time of the service.
