Facts and Events
Before his father's death, Henry received from him "one-half of my three score acres of upland and the land on which Henry's house stands...130 acres of my great division of upland...one-half my meadow called Ladel meadow" in addition to other assorted hills and meadows. The land was west of his brother Samuel's. He was granted liberty to set up a sawmill at Ladle Meadow Brook in 1686. He appears as a selectman three years later, and also as a surveyor and constable. When Andover was divided into a new South Parish (now Andover as opposed to North Andover), Henry was moderator at the first parish meeting and one of the early assessors. He and his wife joined the church by profession of faith on June 3, 1716. Henry survived all his brothers and all but one sister, living to the age of 75.[3] References
